The sweetest sound

Spring must be here. It's early in the morning and still dark. I hear the sweetest bird-singing ever. Perhaps it's a mating call, a song of love.

I usually don't hear birds singing around here. When I was back in the Central Valley, I heard them all the time. It was wonderful to feel closer to nature. How do birds usually communicate in big cities with all that big city noise drowning them out?

yeah, it's nice to hear them when it's not at 4am for a class field trip =P. heh heh, actually it was a pretty fun class but the field trip to listen to bird songs was a bit gruelling.

the class was something like ib 104. i can't really remember the number, but the title was vertebrate zoology. we had field trips every week, usually beginning at 6am. but for the bird songs trip, we had to start extra early.

it was a fun class overall, but the lab practicals were pretty much just rote memorization. so that part wasn't quite as much fun.
